The “D.V.D.” in DVD Clothing stands for “Dusty Vinyl Design“.
Dusty Vinyl Design is owned by Artist, Musician and Designer Dusty Vinyl which was the nickname given to Devin B. by his close friend and fellow musician Jerry “Jellbone” Luiz R.I.P. 6/21/70-2/21/23. The name was given for continually collecting dust covered classic vinyl records used for musical and artistic inspiration.
Devin aka Dusty grew up in the 80s with the birth of MTV, The looming threat of nuclear war and the explosion of Pop culture which spawned cliques of dedicated genre fans. In those days most music fans would support one style of music and bad mouth the rest. It wasn’t common to like various music styles or multiple genres of music. If for instance you listened to Punk and Hip Hop you were considered a “Poser” or “Wannabe”. One had to learn to to defend their ground and find other like minded individuals.
Dusty’s desire to understand the new music scene took him from local suburban backyard bands to House DJs mixing at parties in Los Angeles. From events in Orange County to the live Hip Hop parties in Los Angeles. Somehow Dusty’s group of close knit friends were able to stay low key and get the blessing of respected house party hosts, local bands and DJs.
“In the early days you had a good chance of getting in trouble playing music. If you had a mix tape and your boom box played a Metal track after a Hip Hop jam or vice versa, somebody would often get pissed off. If you stood for what you loved in those days and had no one to back you, you often got clowned and risked an ass whipping by playing the wrong song at the right time.”

Devin B. bio:
Devin has worked in the music industry for the past 25 years and currently works in concert production with Live Nation, Web Graphic Guy design and multimedia and helps run MusiciansSupport a nonprofit charity for music education in Los Angeles.
Born and raised in Southern California to musical and artistically creative parents. Devin was inspired by music and performance at an early age and has remained so to this day.
“It is a long running joke among my friends that in the past I was some sort of shapeshifting chameleon. This always made me laugh and the truth is sometimes I feel like I have lived multiple lives in one. I have gotten bored and reinvented myself for personal entertainment so many times that I often forget about personas I tried over the years. I have been Bowie thin Heavy D phat and everything in between. It was all done to bring laughter to my friends and to take life less seriously. I am still on a journey, my life is an 80s adventure movie and “IT’S OUR TIME DOWN HERE!”

Path of a Shapeshifting Poser
Dusty found his teenage years to be inspired by Pop culture movies and art. Early on he found he related more with the wannabes, posers and nerds than the so called cool crowd. He enjoyed being an outsider and found other outcast artists and started gravitating toward late night graffiti art and creating musical mashups. He later on got into Photography, Video editing, Recording and Design.

The short term goal was to enjoy the night, the long term goal was to gain an understanding of the people, music and culture found within. This took Dusty from the suburbs of Route 66 to new found inspiration traveling to Mexico, Hawaii and New York.
In his early twenties Dusty went on to become a singer, programmer and songwriter which lead him to join with other musicians to form a musical group called Funktion that went on to perform locally in the growing L.A., I.E. and O.C. music scene over the next 10 years. Later group and solo projects include 3Deee , Dusty Vinyl , Madlove and the Subsonic Delivery and Ethyl Mermaid
As a musician he had the opportunity to perform on the same bill with acts such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, Korn, Alien Ant Farm, Crazy Town, The Offspring, Pennywise, Mike D from Beastie Boys, Mix master Mike, Weezer, Kotton Mouth Kings, (HED) p.e.., Lit, Long Beach Dub All-stars, Lefty, SX10, Dial7, Weapon of choice, Rumble Fish and many more.
Devin also worked as an extra in a few film and music video shoots which allowed him to appear in a few movies such as Clueless, Hunt for Red October, Strange Days as well as music videos by Boys 2 Men and Rage Against the Machine.

During the early days of MySpace mayhem, Dusty created a large network of up to 50K fellow artists and musicians. It was from this platform that DVD Clothing was launched and developed.
From that point on Dusty worked with other artists to create various themed music related lines of merchandise.
Most brands were experiments and didn’t make the cut, some sold, some tanked, at that time it was an experiment. In the end, the learning process was the important part and Dusty was able to put together a great group of artists and musicians in his next project.
A list of a few of the clothing lines created that have come and gone over the years.
Dusty started a group project called GENERATION ONLINE which included his musician and artist friends that wanted to be included in group designs. The concept was simple, everyone promoted each other and we all got our 15 minutes of fame. It was a great time for networking among many friends on these projects. Through group effort we were able to complete 3 versions before MySpace imploded. Below are the 3 designs that were offered on clothing and other merchandise.
Long have the days of Myspace past but Dusty still keeps in contact with many artists and musicians.
In the 90’s Devin got involved in Trip Hop, Dubstep, Jungle and other Electronic genres from the UK before it hit home in the states.
Devin started to network with local DJs, Producers an Programmers in the UK and started his own network.
Early networking sites were created by Dusty in the U.S. before genres such as Dubstep, Glitch and Trap hit the U.S. market hard. Such as DubstepRemixes and DubstepDance pages which helped to make videos by dancer such as Marquese Nonstop Pumped Up Kicks go viral.
The exposure, odd designs and underground UK inspired designs got Dusty Vinyls ideas and designs noticed by a few clothing companies that led to many custom design projects and store sales. One of which was a simple original text design that was purchased by local So Cal clothing distributor Hot Topic for a profitable $20,000.00-
“I recall spending 2 minutes creating a simple design as a joke after a long night of communicating with friends in London. After posting the design online I was contacted a few days later by a large local clothing distributer and offered the easiest 20k I ever made. It was a true blessing and helped me get my artistic focus and overall bearings back.” D. Vinyl
This was the beginning of many new design and business possibilities which led Dusty Vinyl to start an online web design company called Web Graphic Guy which currently offers custom graphics, website design and video creation.
Working in the music and film industry has allowed Devin the great pleasure of working with such artists such as KISS, Bowie, The Stones, Sting, Santana, Dr Dre, Lady GaGa, Tony Bennett, The Bee Gees, Alicia Silverstone, Pink, DJ AM (RIP) Beastie Boys, Carlos Santana, Christina Aguilera, Stacey Dash, The Black Eyed Peas, Motorhead, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nelly, No Doubt, Tone Loc, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lenny Kravitz, Snoop Dogg, Marilyn Manson, Paul Rudd, Britney Spears, Sean “Puffy” Combs, Brittany Murphy (RIP), Ricky Martin, Pussycat Dolls, Mýa, Lil’ Kim, Kelly Clarkson, Aerosmith, Madonna, Snoop Dogg and many more.
Devin continues to enjoy producing music, designing art and remains active in helping others with their musical, video and visual projects.

Devin is currently in the process of launching new business ventures and is actively looking for artists and promoters that want to get involved.

Message from Devin B.
DVD Clothing owner:
Hello, Thanks for visiting my site. Music has always had a profound effect on my life. I spent many years going to house parties, events and clubs to performing with my own band and working in the music industry, I have had the opportunity to meet many cool and talented people.
I have a lot of respect for Artists and musicians as well as the people behind the scenes in production that make the music and art events happen. I can relate to the music fans that have found music to have great meaning in their lives.
As a businessman, I like to find and promote great projects and products. As an artist I just like to have fun and do not take things to seriously. The point of most of the designs available here are presented with the intent that they will be customized. They are meant to be templates for music memes and pop culture humor reference.
I am a self trained artist that creates with a “Do It Yourself” attitude. I enjoy making simple parody designs as a fan of pop culture humor and the music that effects and inspires me to try new things.
My biggest artistic inspirations are:
Prince Roger Nelson, Jim Henson, Groovie Ghoulies, Led Zeppelin, Ralph Bakshi, Sid and Marty Kroft, Def Jam Records, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Rank and Bass, Beastie Boys, School House Rock, The 5 elements of Hip Hop, Hanna Barbera, Early MTV and 80s movies.
The most important thing to me is family and friends, I consider music to be both.
Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by.
Blessings and Godspeed,
Devin B., aka Dusty Vinyl
